Apple Kids, Royapettah, formerly known as Little Orchids Playschool, was the first franchisee of the Apple Kids chain of preschools in Chennai. Promoted in 2004 by Padma Achar and Mallika Ravi with an initial enrollment of 15 students, the preschool has now grown to over 100 students.
The campus is spread over an area of more than 3,000 square feet and has an outdoor and indoor play area with child friendly and eco-friendly play equipment. The preschool recruits faculty on the basis of their qualifications, communicative and linguistic skills, experience and their interest in children.
Our Interactive Engagements

— Letters & Phonetics
Interactively we make the child to recognize, names, and write all 26 letters of the alphabet. Make them aware the correct sound that each letter makes, and help them to read high-frequency words.

— Calligraphy & Writing
We engage with special Handwriting Techniques and taught to write simple CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words, such as hat, red, and dog. They’ll also write short, simple sentences.

— Shapes & Objects
Collaboratively we participate with them to name and describe common shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle). With this model they’ll be able to identify, sort, and classify objects by color, size, and shape.

— Numbers & Counting
Help them to recognize, write, order, and count objects up to the number 100. They’ll also add and subtract small numbers stage by stage. This focus on addition and subtraction will continue in next grade.
05.
— Time & Seasons
Kids are concrete thinkers and for them time is abstract but we help them to grasp the basic concepts of time and seasons. They can identify the time of everyday events to the nearest hour to make the days plan.
06.
— Arts & Crafts
Chess, Music, Dance, Martial Arts, Yoga, Arts & Crafts to make the learning experience rich. Further, We conduct weekend workshops for children on Cartooning, Story Telling, Creative Writing & Public Speaking.

Academic Program

Play Group
A playgroup is a registered childcare facility that offers professional care - usually 2-3 hours - for children between the ages of 1.5 to 2.5 years

Pre-KG
Pre-kindergarten is a classroom-based preschool program for children below the age of 2.5 to 3.5 to provide orientation to schooling.
03.
Junior KG
Junior KG is a natural progression from nursery. However, no education is required to enter LKG. Children are usually 3.5 to 4.5 years.
04.
Senior KG
Here our priority is to encourage language development, expansion of knowledge, improving sound recognition & writing activities for 4.5 to 5.5 years
